Over at Kirkus: DRAGON PEARL by Yoon Ha Lee

We are over at Kirkus today for our regular column! It’s Thea’s turn, this time with a review of Yoon Ha Lee’s much-anticipated middle grade science fiction novel, Dragon Pearl.

Thea has been a huge fan of Yoon Ha Lee’s since devouring the epic Ninefox Gambit series. When Rick Riordan’s new imprint announced a middle grade sci-fi adventure, inspired by Korean mythology, in outer space (GIMCHI IN OUTER SPACE), she was hooked. And you know what? Thea James is one half of the maniacal duo behind The Book Smugglers. She is Filipina-American, but grew up in Hawaii, Indonesia, and Japan. A full-time book nerd who works in publishing for her day job, Thea currently resides in Astoria, Queens with her partner and rambunctious cat.
