On the Smugglers’ Radar

“On The Smugglers’ Radar” is a feature for books that have caught our eye: books we have heard of via other bloggers, directly from publishers, and/or from our regular incursions into the Amazon jungle. Thus, the Smugglers’ Radar was born. Because we want far more books than we can possibly buy or review (what else is new?), we thought we would make the Smugglers’ Radar into a weekly feature – so YOU can tell us which books you have on your radar as well!

First up is this amazing-looking book Fantasy YA that mixes Project Runway and Mulan. I downloaded the ARC as soon as it showed up on Netgalley!

Project Runway meets Mulan in this sweeping YA fantasy about a young girl who poses as a boy to compete for the role of imperial tailor and embarks on an impossible journey to sew three magic dresses, from the sun, the moon, and the stars.

Cat Winters’ is a retelling of Poe’s The Raven

One of my favorite books of 2018 was Markswoman by Rati Mehrotra–I cannot wait to dive into book 2.
