Hello everyone, and Happy Sunday! It’s WORLDCON WEEK, FOLKS! That means we are off to Helsinki very soon–so let’s dive right in shall we?
WorldCon 75
This week, from Thursday onward, we will be in Helsinki, Finland for the 75th annual World Science Fiction Convention! We’re thrilled to be attending WorldCon again this year and are looking forward to all of the good books, meeting other SFF lovers, and listening to impassioned discussions about our genre and fandom. If you’ll be in Helsinki for the convention or the Hugo Awards, drop us an email or DM! We cannot wait to report back on all of the festivities.
This Week on The Book Smugglers:
On Monday we kick off the week with an Inspirations & Influences post from José Iriarte about working on his short story Duck Duck God.
And on Tuesday, we are delighted to publish José Iriarte’s aforementioned short story, Duck Duck God for free in its entirety on the blog.
Wednesday, it is our next monthly installment of Cooking the Books–this time, we interview guest Yoon Ha Lee, author of the phenomenal Ninefox Gambit and Raven Stratagem.
On Thursday, we have another short story to share–Nice by A.E. Ash. This is a prequel to her forthcoming novella, Temporary Duty Assignment–but you can read the short story and novella independently of each other if you so wish.
Finally, on Friday we close out the week with Thea’s review of Noumenon by Marina J. Lostetter. (And hopefully, a Hugo Award.)
It’s going to be a busy week! Until tomorrow, we remain…
