Hello, world! Ana has left NYC back for the UK, and it’s time to get back to our regular programming. So let’s dive right in!
This Week on The Book Smugglers
On Monday, Thea kicks off the week with her long overdue review of Scythe by Neal Shusterman, a poignant YA novel about post-mortalism and the reapers who grapple with the weight of their power.
Tuesday, it’s Thea’s turn again with a comics double-feature: The Wake by Scott Snyder and Survivor’s Club by Lauren Beukes. Both are standalone volumes of the horror persuasion–and both are pretty awesome.
On Wednesday, it’s Ana’s turn to take over with her review of The Cutting Season by Attica Locke, a portent and fitting mystery for the world today…
And on Thursday, to celebrate Thanksgiving, we’ll be holding a big ol’ giveaway!
Friday, Ana closes out the week over at Kirkus with her review of “The Story of Your Life” by Ted Chiang and the movie adaptation of said story, Arrival. (Spoiler alert: both of us watched The Arrival when Ana was here visiting and we LOVED it.)
It’s a busy week–until tomorrow, we remain…
