Hello everyone and a belated HAPPY SUNDAY! Let’s jump into things, shall we?
This Week on The Book Smugglers
Tomorrow, we kick off the week with an inspirations and influences post from new author Anna Hight, talking about her short story, Ruby (available in our second quarterly almanac). Plus, Ana is over at Kirkus with her review of Labyrinth Lost!
Tuesday, we are delighted to publish a short story on this here blog–Medium by Charles Payseur! Originally published in our first volume of the Quarterly Almanac, this is a surprising superhero story that we loved–and we cannot wait to share with you.
On Wednesday, we review (at long last) The Poisoned Blade by Kate Elliott. PLUS we post the first in a brand new feature: “Where to Start with…” in which we invite well-versed guests to explain where one should start with a given series or topic. In our first Quarterly Almanac, we published Jay Edidin’s essay Where to Start with The X-Men, and it is our delight to share that essay with you, world, on this blog.
Thursday, we are delighted to have K.B. Wagers over as a guest to talk about her awesome novel Behind the Throne (which Thea loved).
On Friday, we close out the week over at Kirkus with Thea’s review of The Scourge by Jennifer A. Nielsen.
And that’s it! Another busy week, and until tomorrow, we remain…

September 19, 2016 at 1:18 pmNot sure if this is the right place to say it, but I *desperately* need a where-to-start guide on Avatar: The Last Airbender. I know nothing about that series except that EVERYONE says it’s delightful. Book Smugglers, help!
