The Dinosaurs are Coming! Exclusive Art Sketch from The Dinosaur Lords

THE DINOSAURS ARE COMING! And today, we are delighted to be revealing one of the sketches from the novel The Dinosaur Lords!

In full armor and astride a rampaging T-Rex comes The Dinosaur Lords by Victor Milan, releasing July 28th. Described as a cross between Jurassic Park and Game of Thrones, this new epic series is quite probably the coolest thing we have seen lately. WARRIORS. RIDING. DINOSAURS!

As dinosaur enthusiasts we couldn’t be more excited to be participating on this blog tour and to host Victor Milán as he introduces you to….

GALLIMIMUS!

Say hello to Gallimimus bullatus, a big ornithomimid or “ostrich-mimicking” dinosaur. As you can gather from the fact this one’s got a riding-halter with reins on, they’re fairly popular riding animals, sometimes used by mounted skirmishers and scouts in warfare (though horses are more common.)

Toothless, beaked, feathered herbivores – this one doesn’t sport the feather ruff some do – they grow to 26 feet long in the wild, although the domesticated ones seldom go more than 21. Though not native to Nuevaropa, they’re kept and bred as mounts. They’re commonly known as Great striders, usually shortened to just Striders.

Known for a crabby disposition. Even when they don’t have a person sitting on them.

A world made by the Eight Creators on which to play out their games of passion and power, Paradise is a sprawling, diverse, often cruel place. Men and women live on Paradise but dinosaurs predominate: wildlife, monsters, beasts of burden – and of war. Part-time Dinosaur Master and minstrel, and full-time rogue Rob Korrigan, who wants to get paid and laid—but he follows the man he’s written and sung about into what looks like certain disaster. Princess Melodia, who is eager to escape the shadow of her indulgent but neglectful father the Emperor but is faced by consequences she never anticipated. And Imperial Champion Jaume, Count of the Flowers, the Empire’s most celebrated swordsman and poet, who wants to serve Beauty and the right. But what can he do when faced with two equally wrong and ugly choices?

Lush, exotic and utterly chaotic, Victor Milan’s splendidly weird world of The Dinosaur Lords is a fantastical creation, a mirror image of 14th century Europe with its dynastic rivalries, religious wars, and byzantine politics…and the weapons of choice are dinosaurs.
