It’s Friday, which means we’re over at Kirkus! Today it’s Thea’s turn to take over, with a list…
Inspired by the very fun Child of A Hidden Sea by A.M. Dellamonica (which Thea will review here next week), here’s a list of some similar parallel/hidden magical worlds. Go fort and check out the list here!

August 29, 2014 at 7:50 pmI can’t comment over at Kirkus (no Facebook) but there’s also the really outstanding kids “O” trilogy by NZ author Maurice Gee (Halfmen of O, Priests of Ferris, Motherstone). I came across them first as a kid, and the twist in the last book was the first time I was absolutely astonished in my reading.

September 1, 2014 at 7:19 amGood list! There’s one I’d like to add, though I’m not sure it counts: Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor. It’s more like two extra magical worlds parallel with our own, and magic bleeding from those to ours, but there’s still plenty of hidden magic in the human world.
