Today we are thrilled to be a part of Dom Testa’s The Galahad Legacy Scavenger Hunt blog tour, celebrating the release of the sixth and final book in Galahad Series. The series follows 251 teens as they set out for the stars – humanity’s last ditch hope after a rogue comet’s tail permeated Earth’s atmosphere, proving deadly for anyone over the age of eighteen. For two years, young adults on Earth have trained for their mission to a distant star to continue the human race, and in The Galahad Legacy, their mission comes to a dramatic final close.
To celebrate the release of the book, we are hosting the 10th excerpt on the official blog tour. Check it out below!
Topping them all was the startling return of Triana. Fight as he might to keep his mind elsewhere, the image of her slumped in the cockpit of the pod muscled its way back to the fore. Where had she been? What had happened to her on the other side of the wormhole? What was that…thing that sheโd brought back?
Or had it brought her back?
And, most importantly, had his connection with the alien beings known as the Cassini created what Lita described as a โbeaconโ to guide Triana back to Galahad? How should he feel about that, when it was never his original intent?

March 16, 2012 at 6:49 amRight now, I’m really into The Young Wizards series. The first book in it was published in the 1980’s and the last won’t be published until next year!
But anyway. I don’t know if that is my favorite per se, but it is one I am currently enjoying greatly.

March 16, 2012 at 8:12 amI gotta go with Star Wars Episodes IV-VI (the original trilogy) or the 2009 Star Trek movie directed by J.J. Abrams. I refuse to acknowledge Star Wars Episodes I-III as canon and the Star Trek reboot did a great job introducing new viewers to the universe.

March 16, 2012 at 8:14 amTV Show: Firefly…or Star Trek Deep Space Nine. With a nod to Space Cases just because.
Book: Calling B for Butterfly by Louise Lawrence or Acorna by Anne McCaffrey and Margaret Ball. Depends on my mood, but I love them both to pieces.

March 16, 2012 at 10:53 amI love sci-fi books, especially Across the Universe (Revis), Starship Academy (Nick James), and A Long, Long Sleep (Anna Sheehan). A Long Long Sleep doesn’t really take place in space, but there are statements made about galactic colonies on other planets.

March 16, 2012 at 11:08 amWell, they don’t necessarily travel a lot, but Ender’s Game is far and away my favorite space book. Would love a copy of these books.

And I don’t know if you would consider this book a space traveling sci-fi, but I just love A Wrinkle in Time. =)

March 16, 2012 at 3:04 pmThere are lots of TV about space travel I LOVE, including Doctor Who, Stargate Universe, and Firefly. But movies? Serenity, and 2001: A Space Odyssey.
And I can’t even think of any books right now.

March 16, 2012 at 6:14 pmMy favorite is The Snow Queen by Joan D. Vinge. It was a book I stumbled on when looking for retellings of fairytales, and I’ve been re-reading it now for years. Love her world and character building, and the space travel element came as a complete surprise my first time through.

March 16, 2012 at 8:10 pmOhh, there a few good ones. But I’ll have to go with the series I just read, Across the Universe (and the second book A Million Suns). Not only are the plot and writing amazing but titles come from Beatles’ songs. I mean, come one. It’s fantastic. ๐

March 17, 2012 at 8:30 amHmmm…eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeenteresting, these ๐
But so many choices, I don’t think I can name one favorite. Fairly recently, Ann Aguirre’s Grimspace/Jax novels knock my socks off, but my fascination with stories set in space actually started with Asimov’s robot stories. And I’m sure very few can forget 2001.

March 18, 2012 at 8:40 amSerenity, Star Trek -all of them, and Doctor Who

March 18, 2012 at 10:32 amUm, maybe Silver SHark by Ilona Andrews? Don’t know if it counts completely (I think there could be a part that’s “travelling in space”, but it’s definitely good! ๐
