Hello, boys and girls! Smugglvius is going strong as we close out our first week and get ready for a FULL week of fun with our esteemed guest authors and bloggers. Here’s what we have planned…
This Week on Smugglivus:
On Monday, the wonderfully witty Raych of Books I Done Read opens for us with her trademark wit as she talks about her yearly favorites. Later in the day, Smuggler favorite romance author Rose Lerner is our esteemed guest talking about her favorite books and TV Romances of 2011.
Tuesday, Jodie (the force behind the always awesome Book Gazing blog) is over to talk about her favorites of 2011 and can’t waits of 2012. Then, Kate Elliott (who has fast become one of Thea’s favorite authors) is over for her Smugglerific Contribution. Plus, in an attempt to read as many 2011 must-read-before-the-year-is-over (so as to solidify the top 10 books of 2011 list) books as possible, Thea will have a long-overdue review of Cleopatra’s Moon by Vicky Alvear Shecter. (And yes, it could very well make Teh List!)
On Wednesday, our very own dude, Harry Markov, gives us his monstrously wonderful favorite reads of the year, followed by another Smuggler favorite author of the year, as Martha Wells talks about her past and upcoming favorites (including a Doctor Who mention). Ana closes out the day with a review of Buffy-esque YA UF novel Every Other Day by Jennifer Lynn Barnes.
On Thursday, our guest blogger is the lovely Janicu of Janicu’s Book Blog over to share her Smugglivus picks of 2011 and 2012. Then, we have the author of one of our joint favorite books of the year (Fury) over for a guest post – none other than the lovely Elizabeth Miles! Later in the day, Thea reviews YA supernatural novel Frost by Marianna Baer (again, in an all-in attempt to read everything that needs to be read before 2011 closes).
Friday, we have bedbuggy/sea serpenty author Ben Winters over to chat, Smugglivus style, plus a post from the always babbling (in a good way) Katiebabs of Babbling About Books, and More! Plus, we close out the work week with a joint review of Middle Grade Scrabble-Superpower Book (you read that correctly) The Fingertips of Duncan Dorfman by Meg Wolitzer.
On Saturday, we have the one and only Elizabeth Burns, creator and author of the wicked cool School Library Journal Blog A Chair, A Fireplace & A Tea Cozy, over to give us her expert opinion on books of the year. Later in the day, another of Thea’s 2011 discovered and now favorite authors Heather Tomlinson will give us the skinny on her favorites of 2011 and 2012.
It is a crazy busy week, and we hope you enjoy it!
