Well folks, after a year of being around online, I have finally done it.
I have finally convinced Ana to let me steal control of the blog and talk about all things ZOMBIES. For an entire week. THE GIDDINESS, it’s all me!
If you’ve been reading us for a while, you’re probably familiar with some of our Appreciation Weeks (see Western Appreciation Week, Neil Gaiman Week, or our Halloween Week). This time, we are proud to present you with…
That’s right! For the duration of the week, we will be celebrating all things zombies! Tomorrow, we’ll start by sharing our own personal experiences with zombies and our detailed escape plans should the zombie apocalypse occur. We’ll also give you a brief history of the zombie and its evolution as a coveted monster.
On Tuesday, Ana will have her very first Zombie Movie Marathon! That’s right, Ana will share with us her experiences as she watches two classics: Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead, along with their subsequent remakes. Meanwhile, I will be bringing you my essentials list of Zombie Films–from the well known to the obscure. I’ll also talk about some of my very favorite zombie video games.
Wednesday, we bring you Zombies in Literature! Ana and I will talk Zombie Comics with Robert Kirkman’s now classic series The Walking Dead, and we’ll also give a detailed list of zombie books that we love. I’ll post my review of Generation Dead and a few new favorites from Zombie Haiku too.
On Thursday we will have joint reviews of Mark Henry’s hilarious books–the 2008 release, Happy Hour of the Damned, and its brand spanking new sequel Road Trip of the Living Dead.
Capping off the week, we’ll have an interview and giveaway with Mark Henry himself!
We invite you to relax, lock your doors and fortify your windows. Make sure those shotguns are loaded and cocked, and you have some handy melee weapons nearby…
Zombie Appreciation Week is finally here!

February 24, 2009 at 2:58 amUhOh! I am going to have to turn over the reading of your blog this week to my husband who is the gore expert in our house. He loves them. I know, I do love paranormal, vampires and stuff but, eewwww, zombies. They gross me out.
