May is shaping up to be one of the best months with fabulous new books coming up: we just had the new Kresley Cole’s, Dark Needs at Night’s Edge released and we will have another one at the end of the month, Dark Desires After Dusk. The new book by JR Ward, Lover Enshrined will also be out. I haven’t read any one this series but I know most of you are addicted to it and think of this series as pure crack. Katie has got an ARC and reviewed it a few days ago over here .
But I have to say that the two I am most excited about are The Lost Duke of Wyndham by Julia Quinn and Your Scandalous Ways by Loretta Chase. Both have been reviewed by Publisher’s Weekly and this is what they have to say:
(isn’t the UK Cover cute?)
“Quinn (The Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever) embarks on a new series with Grace Eversleigh, companion to the dowager duchess of Wyndham, unwillingly helping the dowager kidnap a highwayman. The dowager believes Jack Audley, a former Army Captain, to be her grandson, the son of her long-deceased favorite son. But the current Duke of Wyndham, Thomas Cavendish, Jack’s ostensible cousin, learns that he could be disposed of a title if it is proven that Jack’s parents were married in Ireland before their untimely deaths. Jack attempts to overcome his tortured past with a quick smile and easy wit, and sparks between Jack and Grace result in a number of sizzling scenes that are made more powerful by the intensity of emotions involved. In her strongest effort to date, Quinn delivers complex, multifaceted characters who come vividly to life”
“A world-weary British spy and master of disguises living in Regency Venice, James Cordier has been dispatched by the government to retrieve highly sensitive letters in courtesan Francesca Bonnard’s possession. A few mishaps later, it’s clear that Cordier isn’t the only one wanting something from the notorious Francesca, who fled England following an affair that left her humiliated, divorced and friendless. Lord Elphick, her ex-husband, is a man with multiple mistresses and great political ambitions. Cordier’s mission and Francesca’s inability to ever trust a man again lead the two into a marvelously and intricately danced tango of a romance. An Italian woman with a penchant for emeralds, a grudge against Cordier and a misguided love for Lord Elphick sweetens the pot, but Chase hones in on her leads admirably. The two delight with sparkling dialogue, sizzling sex appeal and a surprising amount of pathos. “
Both books come out on the 27th and I could not be more excited.
