Hello everyone and Happy Sunday! Thea is having a good time in Sunny California and I am here in the COLD AND WINDY WINTER OF ENGLAND. Not that I am bitter or anything.
Anyhoodles, moving on!

Fangirl Happy Hour:
As you probably know by now, Ana has embarked on a new adventurous side project: a podcast with our friend Renay of Lady Business!
Fangirl Happy Hour is a biweekly podcast where Ana and Renay get to fangirl about everything under the sun: books, comics, TV and movies, fandom and pop culture. Each episode will have three segments (three different topics of conversation) and extra recommendations of things they liked.
The first full episode was released last Tuesday 13: in it they talked (gushed, fangirled, possibly screamed) about anticipated TV, Books and Movies for 2015; then became Serious and Reflective when discussing the Serial podcast and all the complicated feels they had about it; and finally squeed over Agent Carter, the new Marvel/ABC TV Show that is all kinds of awesome.
Go to the link to download the first episode “Brimming with Emotions.” Or follow them on itunes or add their feed fangirlhappyhour.com/feed/ to your preferred podcatcher.
In the meantime, you can find Fangirl Happy Hour on the interwebs at their website or:

This Week on The Book Smugglers:
On Monday, we are hosting the cover reveal (and giveaway) of Claire M. Caterer’s The Wand & the Sea, sequel to The Key & The Flame
Tuesday, we will be a stop on Eric Smith’s Inked Blog Tour with a pretty sweet post launching an original theme song to INKED written by a surprise guest!
On Wednesday, we resume Old School Wednesdays shenanigans with a joint review of a very old school title, beloved by many…. Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Montgomery. It will be the first time Ana reads the book. We will also post the results for the February Poll (there’s still time to vote!)
Thea is back on Thursday with a review of Golden Son by Pierce Brown (sequel to last year’s Red Rising. Her controversial review of the first book is still receiving comments from the fanboys almost one year later.) The Deep by Nick Cutter (review of Golden Son to follow next week!).
On Friday, Ana closes out the week with her review of Genevieve Valentine’s novella Dream Houses
Until tomorrow, we remain…
Agent Carter is the Best

January 18, 2015 at 7:22 pmCA might get rain while Thea is here. If so, I will attribute it to her visit.
When I saw the new edition of Anne of Green Gables I teared up. That was my first ever in-love-with-a-book experience.

January 27, 2015 at 5:41 pmOh, looking forward to your review of THE DEEP. I liked THE TROOP, but it was right on the edge of what I could handle re: the body horror. And what happened to the snails/insects/apes … I just could barely hang in there. So if it’s more of the same type of horror, I might have to pass :-/
