Patrick Rothfuss loves me!!!!

Patrick Rothfuss, writer of the glorious, amazing, BEST BOOK I READ IN YEARS, The Name of the Wind was in London last Thursday signing his books at Forbidden Planet. Unfortunately I could not attend the event (DAMN IT!) and I don’t think I have ever regretted missing anything as much as I regret missing this one. Not only did I miss having fun and getting to meet fellow UK bloggers who were there, it seemed I missed, by all accounts, what could only be described as one of the best author events Forbidden Planet has put together. Pat (yes, first name basis ok? He does love ME) seems to be a very cool guy, funny and entertaining who read expects from his second book OMG The Wise Man’s Fears!!!!
Now, you must be asking yourself, if I did not go, how did I get to be loved by The Man?
It just so happens that the amazing Liz from the blog My Favourite Books is one of the most generous people I have ever met. We only recently became acquainted online, and last month we met when Katiebabs was visiting. We promptly connected via our love for books and Neil Gaiman and started exchanging emails. Liz told me she was attending Patrick Rothfuss signing and asked me if I had read the book. I said that not only had I read it, I also reviewed it quite recently and I said to her in an email:
“I simply said in my review that it was the best book I read since the Book Smugglers’ inception. gave it a 10 and wanted to have babies with it.”
Now, you want to know what Liz did? She printed my review and this piece of email and took them with her to the signing. She bought a copy of the book for me, took it to Pat, showed him my email and asked him to sign a reply and he did and this is what he said:

LOL. Afterwards , when they were at a club where he did his reading, Liz got some paper and pen from another guest, wrote the sign and took it to Pat who promptly posed for the photo.
4 days later and I am still beside myself with giddiness at how cool this was. And for the life of me, I can’t get used to the generosity I find over and again in the book blogging community. To Liz, a HUGE thank you. To all of YOU, READ THE FREAKING BOOK.
If you want to know more about the event, you can read Liz’s account here. Or Graeme’s (who also had the most amazing photo taken with Pat ) or Adam’s from the Wertzone.
Also, I just found online this series of interviews with Patrick Rothfuss, where he talks about his books, other books (he loves Neil Gaiman!!! ) and about sex in his world.
Part 1:
then you can get to parts 2 and 3 from there.
Patrick Rothfuss may love me, but I think I love him MORE.

About Us
We are two completely obsessed, sad, sick addicts when it comes to books. Faced with threats and cynicisms from our significant others and because of the massive amounts of time and money we spend at Amazon.com, we resorted to getting books delivered to our offices and then smuggling them into our homes (in huge handbags) to avoid detection. Here we found a perfect outlet for our obsession! Reviews, recommendations, and other ponderings are our specialty.Sponsors

I just wanted to thank you for this. I never would have picked up this book if it hadn’t been for your “affection” for it and Rothfuss.
It was beyond words amazing.
Thanks again
