We have been tagged by Kmont!
The rules:
Grab the nearest book. Open the book to page 56. Find the fifth sentence. Post the text of the next two to five sentences in your journal/blog along with these instructions.
Don’t dig for your favorite book, the cool book, or the intellectual one: pick the closest. Tag five other people to do the same.
Ana: (Because I am such a tease) Right now, I am reading Hope’s Folly by Linnea Sinclair (and it’s awesome). Page 56:
“Subbie?”
“Their weapons were set to stun. Not kill. They wanted you alive”
Martoni stared at her. Philip’s smile widened.
Thea: I’m reading The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. Annnnd pg 56:
“I’ll speak to Neri, but I don’t think he’ll give it back to me. Perhaps he doesn’t even have it anymore. Anyhow, what do you want the book for? Don’t tell me it’s to read it.”
“No. I know it by heart.”
Ooooh sounds mysterious, doesn’t it?
We tag anyone who wants to play!!!
Good Sunday!!

About Us
We are two completely obsessed, sad, sick addicts when it comes to books. Faced with threats and cynicisms from our significant others and because of the massive amounts of time and money we spend at Amazon.com, we resorted to getting books delivered to our offices and then smuggling them into our homes (in huge handbags) to avoid detection. Here we found a perfect outlet for our obsession! Reviews, recommendations, and other ponderings are our specialty.Sponsors

I’ll just play from here…
I’m sitting next to a biiiiig bookshelf and all my books are actually shelved for once, so it’s kind of a toss-up. The one that’s eye-level on a stack as I sit here, however, is Terry Pratchett’s Moving Pictures:
“Thousands?” he said. “Really? That many? And of course they all pay you, oh, how much-?”
Since that’s not very descriptive I’ll add that it’s CMOT Dibbler speaking
Ana!! You ARE a tease! Hope’s Folly???!!!!!!
Why I oughta…
Hee Kate! Cut Me Own Throat Dibbler totally rocks
And Kmont….INDEEED. *ninja vanish*
You tempted me here…
Page 56 in my current copy edits of HOPE’S FOLLY has my favorite scene. So forgive the fact this is more then the fifth line but it is ONE of my very favorite scenes…

She folded herself down next to him and, he noticed, kept glancing at his duffel.
He arched an eyebrow.
“Is this,” she asked hesitantly, “what I think it is?”
“What do you think it is?”
“Norlack 473 sniper, modified to handle wide-load slash ammo.” There was a noticeable reverence in her voice.
He pulled the rifle out, hefting it. She had a good eye. Norlacks weren’t common. But recognizing it was modified for illegal and highly destructive charges… Then again, she’d seen it in action.
“It is,” he confirmed, amused now by the expression on her face. It had gone from reverence to almost rapture.
“That is so totally apex.” Her voice was hushed. “May I,” and she glanced shyly at him, her eyes bright, spots of color on her cheeks, “fondle it?”
He stared at her, not sure he heard her correctly. Then he snorted, laughing. Fondle it, indeed.
He handed it to her.
She took it, cradling it at first, then running her fingers lovingly down its short barrel.
Sweet holy God. He didn’t have enough painkillers in him to stop his body’s reaction to the smokiness in her eyes, or the way her lips parted slightly, the edge of her tongue slipping out to moisten them, as her hands slid over the weapon…

I just lurve Philip and I lurve the way Rya can so easily disconcert him…
http://www.linneasinclair.com
Linnea! That is hands down one of my favorite parts of the book – it is very funny AND shows how much Rya and Philip have in common! THis is the scene that I will be quoting in the Notable Quote’s part in my review! awesome, just awesome.
Well, that scene and Rya's "impending doom" scene… if you haven't gotten there yet I won't do a spoiler… ;-> ~Linnea
*sneaks in*
Linnea, this was my favorite part of HOPE’S FOLLY (so far) too! Rya and Philip are simply perfect.
Linnea, must you tease me so? I am in pins and needles to go home and finish the book (I have another 120 pages to finish) *g*
