About the Book:

A new epic fantasy by National Book Award finalist and New York Times bestselling author Laini Taylor of the Daughter of Smoke & Bone trilogy.

The dream chooses the dreamer, not the other way around–and Lazlo Strange, war orphan and junior librarian, has always feared that his dream chose poorly. Since he was five years old he’s been obsessed with the mythic lost city of Weep, but it would take someone bolder than he to cross half the world in search of it. Then a stunning opportunity presents itself, in the person of a hero called the Godslayer and a band of legendary warriors, and he has to seize his chance to lose his dream forever.

What happened in Weep two hundred years ago to cut it off from the rest of the world? What exactly did the Godslayer slay that went by the name of god? And what is the mysterious problem he now seeks help in solving?

The answers await in Weep, but so do more mysteries–including the blue-skinned goddess who appears in Lazlo’s dreams. How did he dream her before he knew she existed? and if all the gods are dead, why does she seem so real?

In this sweeping and breathtaking new novel by National Book Award finalist Laini Taylor, author of the New York Times bestselling Daughter of Smoke & Bone trilogy, the shadow of the past is as real as the ghosts who haunt the citadel of murdered gods. Fall into a mythical world of dread and wonder, moths and nightmares, love and carnage.

Welcome to Weep.

The first book in a new series from Laini Taylor, Strange the Dreamer is available from Little, Brown & Co. Get it in stores March 28th, 2017. Read the prologue on EW.com. Or check out the first chapter on thenovl.com.

There are so many incredible fantasy worlds, it’s hard to choose! I’ve always been in love with Middle Earth – I think I’d enjoy living in Hobbiton. Thanks for the giveaway opportunity! I absolutely adore Taylor’s writing.

Ooooooh must have book must have.

I do not know how to even begin to choose a favorite fantasy world. If I have to pick, I might go with His Dark Materials, because I want to be a balloonist who is friends with an armored bear.

My favorite fantasy world? Ooh, that’s so hard. I guess it’s whatever I’m watching or reading at the time. I’ve loved Buffy, and Angel, and C.S. Lewis fantasy and science fiction books, etc., etc.

That’s a hard one to decide. I would go for Sanderson’s Roshar. Crazy weather patterns aside, the world is so fascinating.

Hard to say, because so many are great, but I loved the world in Martha Wells’ Books of the Raksura.

I love the world of Harry Potter and Middle Earth, but my favorite fantasy world from a book is The Enchanted Forest Chronicles by Patricia C. Wrede. My favorite TV fantasy world may be The Emerald City world from NBC, but it’s very early in development.

My immediate answer is Discworld, but Middle Earth will also always have a special place for me ever since my dad read my twin and I the Hobbit as a child.

My favorite fantasy world might be Garth Nix’s Old Kingdom, but it’s hard to choose!

Well, the Wizarding World is a bit too obvious an answer… so I guess I’ll go instead with something a little random. One of my favorite movies (and worlds) is “Penelope”, which is maybe more magical realism, but I love the quirky aesthetic and the ordinary-yet-fantastical feel of the whole thing. <3

The Harry Potter universe, ofc. But if I had to pick something other than that, then it’s definitely Discworld. (Terry, my man.)
