Hugo Awards 2016: Nominations, Tentative Ballots and Eligibility

It’s that time of year again – awards season is here! Today we will be talking about the Hugo Awards!

The Hugo Award

The Hugo Awards are a fan award and one of longest-running and most prestigious under the SFF umbrella. Each year the winners are announced at the World Science Fiction Convention (aka WorldCon). Worldcon 2016 or MidAmeriCon II, will take place in Kansas City, August 17-21. We Smugglers have already signed up to attend the convention!

Now, even if you are not attending MidAmeriCon II, please note that ANY SFF fan can sign up for a supporting membership ($50) which gives you the right to nominate and vote for the Hugos – this year’s nominating process is already open.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You will need to become a member by January 31, 2016 to secure your nominating rights for this year’s Hugo Awards.

For more information on how to become a member, check out the MidAmericon II website and the official Hugo Awards official website.
