Book Smugglers Publishing Giveaways Subversive Fairy Tales

Book Smugglers Publishing Presents: A Bibliophile Collection Print (& Giveaway)

The Book Smugglers present an exclusive Bibliophile Collection Print (plus a free ebook download – and a giveaway).

In 2014, we Book Smugglers embarked on a journey that would expand our repertoire from reviewers to editors and, eventually, publishers. Over the course of the last year, we co-edited the 2013 edition of Speculative Fiction: The Best Online Reviews, Essays and Commentary – an immense, but rewarding, experience. Soon after, we decided that we wanted to do more – and so we decided to publish six original short stories, around the theme of Subversive Fairy Tales. For each of our short stories, we commissioned original cover art from three truly amazing artists, and at the end of 2014 we even opened a Society6 store selling prints, cases, and more featuring said artwork.

Today, we are thrilled to unveil one more awesome addition to our 2014 lineup – an exclusive Book Smugglers Bookshelf print from Sebrina Schultz of mismikado‘s Bibliophile collection on Etsy. We were approached by Sebrina a few weeks ago, and were floored when she created a print representation of all of the books we published last year:

The Bibliophile Book Smugglers Exclusive

We couldn’t be more thrilled with Sebrina’s interpretation of our books (hey, creating spines for digital-only books isn’t easy!) and are so happy to share the exquisitely awesome print with you, dear readers. If you would like a copy of this print, you can purchase it directly from Sebrina’s Etsy store – and as a bonus, every purchase of the Book Smugglers Bibliophile print comes with a free EPUB download of Hunting Monsters by S.L. Huang. The print comes with free shipping, and if you use the coupon code BOOKSMUGGLERS at checkout, you will also get 20% off your purchase! Not too shabby, eh?

Get the print online here. (And while you’re at it, check out Sebrina’s other work – you can even commission your own bookshelf of favorites, should you be interested in a different print.)

About Sebrina & Her Bibliophile Collection:

In February 2010, I legalized my business to be part of the Wedding Industrial Complex. I wanted to do it all, design, plan, photograph, create stationary, you name it, I tried it. I loved everything that was to do with weddings. It was a love affair that began as a small child whose mother made custom wedding dresses and still lingers in my heart today but is reserved for close friends. I found a niche in the wedding stationary market and even supported my family doing that with my husband’s help when we decided to simplify our life and both work freelance. By the time my son came along in 2014, however, the high stress environment that comes with weddings was feeling like too much for me and so I decided to take a break. What was suppose to be temporary maternity leave stretched into nearly a year away from anything work related. And as 2015 rounded the corner, I was itching to do something productive outside motherhood. Since my time and ability to create tangible items became limited as a SAHM with no child-care network, I needed to figure out something I could do with the resources I had. And that’s when I went back to my roots. Graphic Arts. Years before I discovered the works of Jane Mount and her Ideal Bookshelf collection. I loved everything about it and wanted to do something similar with my own twist. While she beautifully hand paints each of her pieces, I do what I do best by “digitally” painting mine using Adobe Illustrator. Every book in my Bibliophile Collections is drawn using my 2010 iMac and Magic Mouse. I’ve found this to be a perfect outlet for me and hope you enjoy my pieces as well.

Check out all of her designs on her Etsy store HERE.

It’s impossible to say without narrowing it down, so I’m going to say what my favourite Booksmuggler-published cover is. It’s the one for In Her Head, In Her Eyes. 😀

Too tough of a question because I am such a sucker for good covers, but my current two favorites are probably A Hero at the End of The World and Half Bad. Gorgeous covers.

There are so many beautiful book covers in the world! I definitely love anything by Leo and Diane Dillon. I also love the cover of a book called “Sirena,” I can’t recall the author off the top of my head…

Anything by Kinuko Y. Craft! I just finished reading Cybele’s Secret and every couple of minutes I had the urge to close the book and stare at the cover for a few seconds. It’s absolutely gorgeous, and with a lot of tiny details.
