As an author, librarian, and Steampunkian, I am psyched about your Steampunk Appreciation Week(s). Just read this post aloud to my husband who is gnashing his teeth and throwing himself around because we weren't able to go to Nova Albion. But we will be at the Emerald City ComiCon this weekend in Seattle, WA where he (Shamus Tinplate AKA Anthony Jon Hicks) will be displaying his Steampunk wonders and bodgery. Check out the Facebook page if you're in the neighborhood or, should you be in desperate need of a raygun go directly to his Etsy site . By October we should have our graphic novel done (think Muldar and Scully meets Boneshaker) for Seattle Steamcon II. So much lovely Steampunk media/events...so little time! Thanks for pulling so many great things together for us.

I love the artwork on a lot of steampunk novels, above and beyond loving the books inside the cover. The Windup Girl and Affinity Bridge both ended up in my hardcover pile (usually reserved for a few favorite authors) because they were just so pretty that I had to have them!

I’m not going to make it to the convention either, but I’m looking forward to a great week here. Thanks, ladies!

I live extremely close to Emeryville (so close I could sneeze and I’d be there) and so, could attend the Nova Albion Steampunk Convention, but as of yet, am unsure. I think, unfortunately, I’m saving my fun money for a yearly comic convention in San Francisco (WonderCon: Star Wars and comics–it’s all glorious).

I’ll be here for Steampunk Appreciation Week, though!!
