I seen this book just recently and added it to my TBR pile so when I seen you’re review I was stoked.

I appreciate your honest and thorough review.

Really enjoyed it, the world-building is smooth and the characters are pretty vivid. And it’s a neat concept and the first time I’ve seen it done, although Jim Butcher used the germ of this idea for his Furies books.
I’ll be getting the sequel too and I’m fascinated for Rill’s book.

I gotta say, maybe my boundaries are set further out than most, but the sex scenes really aren’t that explicit, although there’s quite a few references to kissing/foreplay/sexual situations but a number of them happen off page. Most of them speak to plot or world building development although there’s one scene with Jasar that really doesn’t serve any purpose except to be icky. But you can skip it, you’ll know which one I mean.

IMO, if you’ve read anything like Stephanie Laurens, Linda Howard, J.R Ward, Jacqueline Carey, or hell, most any Blaze book, you’ll have read more detailed sexual content
