Interesting book. It's not at all the type of thing I'd usually read but I like the idea of this disease coming and changing a lot of the population. Makes me think what would happen if that really happened here. Would definitely give this a read.

Thea~ Yup. I live just out of Sacramento in Rocklin. I've been reading it for a while now and I started following the blog posts a few weeks ago. My husband works for the Sac News and Review, and gets excited anytime he sees someone with his little paper, so I'm sure it makes you excited when someone has seen a publication you contribute to. Very cool!

Danielle - Alas, I fear In Great Waters has alluded me in a review copy! But I think I might spring for it later on, if I see it in the bookstore. And I do think Daryl Gregory's first novel, Pandemonium is worth checking out! It's just this one that kind of gets that snoozy "lit-ra-chur" vibe.

Jenn M. - I'm actually in Los Angeles! But I am a reviewer for the SBR and San Francisco Book Reviews, so I'm pretty thrilled you've picked up an issue of the periodical! Are you up in Sac-town?

Do you live in the Sacramento area Thea? I saw your source and I was curious. I just picked up a copy of the Sacramento Book Review earlier in the week.

I haven't read anything by this author, but he's coming across to me as one of those literary guys who are Holier Then Thou and get too snug for their britches. The ARC fail's way funny though, and I hope the publishers eventually get In Great Waters out to you.
