I couldn't tell you why I really liked Jeepers Creepers either, but I did.

Just a fantastic movie. I couldn't think of anyone else to add to your list. Perfect.

I'm going to rant here for a minute. I never got why everyone went gaga over Laurie Strode, but passed over Nancy Thompson (especially in the first Nightmare).

Laurie Strode was definitely a girl with a strong survival instict. She fought back and she protected those kids as best she could, but she was completely reactive. Michael attacked her, she fought back. That was it.

Nancy, on the other hand, didn't wait around for Freddy to kill her. Instead, she researched, she learned, and she developed a plan to kick his ass. And it worked (minus the scary epilogue). She was a proactive girl who used her wits and intelligence to protect herself.

I love Nancy Thompson because she didn't sit around waiting for the attack. She went after the bad guy. If I'm ever in a slasher movie situation I want Nancy at my back.(/rant)

And good list! All these women were awesome. :)

I love these chicks! Sarah Connor, Ripley, Laurie Strode, Alice, Sidney, Clarice and OMG I NEED to have a rave about how much I LOVE Dusk til Dawn! Awesome awesome film! Kickass chicks are the best. Fantastic post. I was getting all gung-ho watching Resident Evil the other night with the boy and he scoffed and said I SO wouldn't be enjoying it as much if it was an Adam or Andrew instead of Alice. Damn skippy I wouldn't. What would be the fun of just another guy with a gun?

Wasn't a big fan of Planet Terror (the chick getting her hand stuck in the car door and then falling down and hearing the bones snap topped my EW! threshold) but Death Proof was so much fun!

Ripley, of course, is my queen of horror films. *kneels and worships* I'm not worthy!

Rose McGowan's part in Scream was noteworthy too: she didn't lose her head and almost made it out of the garage--if it wasn't for that damned cat flap...
