Reading this at the moment, and it is hillarious!!

there are lots of little bits in it that harken the things we are so very familiar with today but have a completely different take on it.

Personnally I like that the narrator is in the book and did not find the change in style jarring, in fact i thought this little quirk was excuted to perfection and works well within the overal narrative style.

My only concern was regarding Australia, but as the plot so far has not dwelled too much on this i'm hopeful the modern world will not encrouch on a thoroughly entertaining, and currently tense read

Sounds like an interesting story. Thanks for the review. I'm still on the fence, but now I've got some good ammo to help sway me. :)

I was uncertain about this book as it was being billed as fantasy, but it's good to know it's not all elves and orcs.

I may well pick up a copy at next weeks event at FP and give it a go.

I must confess that both the cover and the synopsis would have caught my attention in the bookstore. I will have to think on it before I add it to my TBR list.

Thanks for the review.
