Yay! Another fan of the series! I can't wait to get my hands on the latest book. :)

"Eric Estrada/Fabio Legolas"
BWA HA HA! Oh dear. I'm not a fan of the covers(especially seeing as how they're now done in different styles and don't match) as I don't think they're very representative of the series. Before the third book came out, when I picked up the first two, I was expecting Pratchett-like humour because of the covers. No matter, loved the series!

Angie, thanks for the heads up on the series ending. :)

And thank you, too, Thea. It's great to hear of a series that is not doling out the awful cliffhangers.

Ana - The books are on the way to you in the post, my dear! You'll have the Eric Estrada/Fabio Legolas all for yourself soon! Hehe. Seriously, cheesy covers aside, this is a fantastic series.

KMont - I'm actually not sure when the books are ending, but each story is basically self-contained and ends nicely (i.e. there aren't really huge cliffhangers that have you gnashing your teeth and pulling out your hair). Give these a try! It's a seriously underrated series, and it's funny and imaginative with a leading duo that has it all :)

Doug - I actually think book 3 was the weakest of the bunch! Go back and give Resenting the Hero a read. I think you'll enjoy it.

Janicu - To each their own ;) I love Lee's inner dialogue and how she'll respond mentally to comments people make to her but not voice her opinions  Though I totally agree on the covers. Icky. Especially this last version of Taro. At least the first two were somewhat purposefully cheesy - whereas the last two are just bad taste cheesy. Cringe.

Angie - LOL, foot-face Taro. Seriously. And what is up with Lee's LONG '80s NAILS!!!!! ARGH! But cover aside, man I really enjoy this series so much. I love all the exchanges between Taro and Lee...especially that one near the end of the book when they finally TALK instead of this silent/yelling non-communication of crossed wires and mixed signals  Shucks, only 3 more books to go?? Oh well. I'll savor them all!

Adrienne - Well, you know how the saying goes. Never judge a book by its cover...especially when the cover features magicians in '80s chic with electric blue orbs. Just...no!

Great review, Thea! I love this series. And agree with you on sad, foot-faced Taro on this most recent cover. Ugh.

That was a great passage you quoted. There were so many like that I loved. And good point about Moore keeping it fresh by following the logical progressions (or digressions in Lee's case!) of growth for these two.

KMont, there is an end in sight. She's planned for three more books. The series will end with book 7.

I'm not sure I agree on this being a *hilarious* series although it has it's moments.. that's why I think the first two covers are pretty bad. They make me think of Robert Asprin's Myth series, where it's much more about humor than what's in Heroes. I like the last two covers better, though the picture of Taro in Heroes at Risk is SO not what I had in my head! At least it has really pretty colors is what I tell myself.

LOL I actually have only read the third book which I quite enjoyed. Haven't felt a pressing need to read the earlier books, but will probably continue on given your postive review.
