I really enjoyed this book when I read it a couple of years ago, and even reposted my review of it for YA Appreciation month. Unfortunately I haven’t been brave enough to try more of Zusak’s writing just in case it doesn’t live up to this one!

Since it has pictures I am looking forward to getting it so my sister can read it. she doesn’t like books without pictures.

I liked the concept of The Book Thief when it first came out and picked up a copy. I didn’t get around to reading it until ~6 months later when it showed up in the syllabus for a YA literature course I was taking.

I loved the writing style and the unique perspectives. There were a few points that put me off but generally I really liked the book and have recommended it to friends and family.

It’s a great read and I hope/plan to read more Zusak in the future.
