I love both these books they are two of my favourite books of all time (and that’s saying something as I have read over a thousand books in only 13 years!) I have Wildwood Dancing and wish I had Cybele’s Secret too! It’s great to see such a positive rating for one of my favourite authors.

I loved Wildwood Dancing, but it was hard to get into this one. I could only find it at the library on a sound recording, and it was very hard to concentrate on it. I never finished it.:(
Maybe one day though, I’ll get to read it.

I loved the cover art when I read Wildwood Dancing back in Feb and it linked in fantastically well with the story. I even looked up the artist (Kinuko Y. Craft)in the hope of buying something of hers but as her commission pieces start at $50,000… *Gulp*

Loved your review. On the covers issues, someone asked why they’re so many. That’s because they’re different publishers on Australia (Pan MacMillan), US (Roc) and UK (Tor). The UK and Australian covers are usually the same, but US has always chosen a different one I think. This time they all did.

Oh, the covers are just heaven. I want to put them in a frame and hang them in my bedroom. And when you said the covers match the story my heart did a little flop. I LOVE that. Nothing annoys me more than when a cover doesn’t match a book. I am buying this books right now. Grocery shopping will just have to wait.

I love Juliet Marillier. Both Cybele’s Secret and Wildwood Dancing were such enchanting reads. I interviewed Juliet Marillier, and she seems like such a bright and intelligent woman. I loved reading her answers to my questions! Can’t wait for Heart’s Blood!

Oh, this is probably a silly question but..why so many covers? Heart’s Blood is being marketed to the same target audience in all three countries, isn’t it? And it’s the same publisher is all three countries? *scratches head* I’m missing something obvious, aren’t I?

I can’t believe that even after reading your amazing review of (IIRC) Sevenwaters last year I STILL haven’t picked up any of Ms Marillier’s books! I must be mad…or stupid…or both!

This sounds like such a good book, and I love that is it set in Turkey, which is a fascinatingly vibrant country IMO. And it has a dashing pirate – what more can I girl want?

Lol. I like the U.S. cover for HEART’S BLOOD. I also thought it was adult and not YA. Hm. Have to go investigate. I loved CYBELE’S SECRET. Even more than WILDWOOD DANCING, I think. Probably the connection with Paula. But I also simply loved her version of Istanbul. What a lush story it was.
