Smugglers Stash and News
The weekend is over, alas! But we have another shiny new stash for you to chase away the impending Monday blues…
Oooh, Pretty!

The new cover to The Dead-Tossed Waves (out next year), Carrie Ryan’s companion book to her awesome debut, The Forest of Hands and Teeth. Is it next year yet?
This Week on The Book Smugglers:

Monday, Thea serves up her review of the surprisingly excellent The Magicians and Mrs. Quent.

On Tuesday, Thea will review Magic Strikes by Ilona Andrews – one of Thea’s top 10 of 2009 reads!

And, on Friday, author Angie Fox will be stopping by to talk inspirations for her newest book The Dangerous Book for Demon Slayers, sequel to her bestselling debut novel The Accidental Demon Slayer. Angie will have an awesome “Are You Part Demon Slayer?” quiz and contest, so make sure to stop by for the fun and for a chance to win the swag! The Dangerous Book for Demon Slayers will be out from Dorchester on April 28.
And, Just Because…
I saw I Love You, Man this weekend (which is awkwardly hilarious, by the way), and guess what I got an eyeful of during the previews???
and
May is so gonna rock the universe.
That’s it for now…

About Us
We are two completely obsessed, sad, sick addicts when it comes to books. Faced with threats and cynicisms from our significant others and because of the massive amounts of time and money we spend at Amazon.com, we resorted to getting books delivered to our offices and then smuggling them into our homes (in huge handbags) to avoid detection. Here we found a perfect outlet for our obsession! Reviews, recommendations, and other ponderings are our specialty.Sponsors

10 One of the best books I have ever read9 Damn near perfection8 Excellent7 Very good6 Good, recommend with reservations5 Meh, take it or leave it4 Bad, but not without some merit3 Horrible, barely readable2 Complete waste of time1 One of the worst books I have ever read; I want my money (and a few hours of my life) back0 Did not finish

My sister and I have a strange relationship – full of love but also a lot of one upmanship going on too. I upped her REAL good today. We went out for brunch with my two sons and I started talking about the new Star Trek movie when I asked her is she wanted to go see it when it comes out in May. Both sons jumped in and said it looked really good – now for the kings of cool they think they are – this was a real ringing endorsement. Lisa – the self-proclaimed ‘trekkie’ of the family – who watched all the versions of the television shows and all the movies, didn’t even know there was a new movie coming out. Boy did I score on her!!!! Somehow – and I can’t really explain why – that was the best part of the lunch
My wife and I can’t wait for WOLVERINE and STAR TREK XI
Thea, you watched I Love You, Man? I really want to watch it ever since I saw the guy whatshisname Paul Rudd? on Jon Sterwart
I know someone who saw Wolverine during the whole, oops it is on the internet debacle. He said the movie is amazing even without the special effects.
Also I have been passing around Forest of Hands and Teeth and we are all anxiously awaiting the sequel. Carrie has the best covers.
Pretty covers!
And I want to see Star Trek and Wolverine too… I’m trying to work out whether Bones will have an NZ accent on not
I cannot wait to see the new Star Trek and Wolverine is actually growing on me. Plus, Ryan Reynolds is in it, so maybe it was always a given with me and I was just being coy *flutters lashes*.
And ladies, I just haven’t been able to finish The Forest of Hands and Teeth, but you’re right, that’s a great cover for the sequel.
