I am a 60-year-old who sneaks YA SciFan in among my other reads b/c ~a good book is a good book no matter the target audience
~they are a quick easy read I can totally disappear into for a cover-to-cover mini-vacation.

Wicked Lovely was a fun little trip! I sandwiched it, and Breadcrumbs (coincidentally, both with Snow Queen themes), between chapters of Isaacson's Steve Jobs biography - who was also a bit fey.

Like music, one can find good reads in every genera. I was introduced to urban fantasy through Charles DeLint and Neal Gaimen. I like the idea of multiple worlds that some can transverse, but have avoided the onslaught of zombie, werewolf, and vampire books that have followed in the wake of Twilight (I personally enjoyed The Host more).

I did not share most of the criticisms that Jessica had with this book at all except that I was also a bit put off by the flat male stereotypes. The guys were either perfect, ghastly, or clueless, which rendered them all boring. So Melissa has some room for growth; and I look forward to enjoying it!

Jessica - thank you for such an insightful review! I've read WL but now I feel I need to read it again, to pick up the meanings behind the words, something I manged (I think) with Ink Exchange.

KB - I am SO jealous of your trip to UK! I wish I could stowaway in your suitcase...I'd just need to get to the US first! Ana & KB let lose on London.... :)

We don’t always have control over everything that happens to us, but we do have control over how we let it effect us.

Very true words Christine...I think I need to get them tattoed on me somewhere so I remember them!

And thank you for the Melissa Whalen Turner recommendation!

carolyn jean -- I will try another one day, I am sure, but no, I don't have plans to read more. If I do, I would likely start by finishing this series. I guess I am hooked on the HEA and I don't see Ya giving me that.

Okay... moving it up on the TBR.

Can't wait to see what Ana/Thea think of The Once and Future King. I love that book. But then I'm also in love with the whole of Arthurian Legend.

I read this with great interest since I too have no time for YAs. I know people I respect really like them, too. I can't help it! So, Jessica, will you be reading any more YAs???

Katiebabs -- I am so jealous of your trip to the U.K.. have you ever been? You will love it!

Victoria -- I thank you for the suggestion.I may just take you up on it. Did you like this one?

Mame-- I also have two boys. you mean they won;t always want me to cuddle them and kiss their boo boos? Blocking my ears!

Chrstine -- I agree totally. It's true that Aislann is "victimized" by circumstances, but her choices make her something other than a victim.

Kati -- I also love audiobooks (coincidentally, I am in the middle of another faery book, the first Merry Gentry book by Laurell K. Hamilton). Some books work well for me in audio but not written and sometimes the reverse. Good luck with it.
