Thank you Thea! I remember reading your review of the second book and thinking I must add this series to my TBR list! And I thought I had...my TBR list has obviously been self-editing :( It has been sternly spoken too and the books added :)

I really like the idea of a heroine with middle-level powers...

I have just ordered it :-) Skimmed your review to avoid spoilers, but I'll have to return and read properly once I'm done!

Hi Lisa *waves* :) I was so excited to read this book, and it did not disappoint. I love me some Raine Benares ;) Thanks for the linkage and everything! And congrats again on another fabulous book.

Patty - Completely, whole-heartedly agree. As Raine might say, it is fun, action-packed, and coated in yum! Hell yes

KMont - Exactly my thoughts. The action is wonderful and the fast-paced nature of the books is a selling point for me, but I can't help but feel like our intrepid crew of heroes is burning down.

And dude, the girl-fight scene? Awesome. :P

I've got about a third of this book left to read and so far my thoughts are pretty much on course with yours. Girl fight hair pulling? Can't wait lol.

I'm like you especially in regards to the time frame. At the beginning of this book we're reminded that it's only been TWO weeks since Raine took on the Saghred! And this is the third book already. That's, wow, not a lot of time, even given a couple more, for three books.

Authors - THANK YOU to the ones that put in a clear frame of reference for the time passing in your books!

So, yeah, I'm totally agreeing on the "something's gotta give" mentality. How much longer can this much action go on without some very serious, and deadly, repercussions. I'm wondering if someone we've grown to really like in the series might...well, die.

Raine mentions a lot in this book how little rest and sleep she's getting. With the way she's constantly going and fighting evil, frankly, she's not getting sleep but maybe every couple of days it seems like. It might be more often that that, but it doesn't feel like it. I mean, we get told how much she needs sleep this time almost as often as we're reminded that she's the best seeker ever. And we're reminded of that last detail A LOT.

The plus side is that yes, all the action is good. It's engrossing and keeps that pace nice and snappy. I'm kind of worried about Raine, though. How much longer can she keep that kind of stamina up?

Other than that - the book is GREAT.

Great review, Thea. You're right, Lisa's alter-ego, Raine, is a terrific heroine. TTWD is Lisa's best book yet, and I highly recommend it. As Raine might say, it is fun, action-packed, and coated in yum!
