I really liked The City of Ember Quartet. I really like Lina Mayfleet and Doon Harrow as a couple (that is if they're even a couple).

Hi Thea! Pretty great post I have to say! I was just roaming the web for something like this. :) I love YA books! Lord of the rings and stuff like that are pretty much my favorite. :)
Then, I wrote a book of my own... :) haha... pretty crazy; it's got all of the fantasy good stuff entwined in it!

I hope I have missed you Tara - great review and thank you (and thank you Thea for interviewing :)

I love Tamora Pierce too - I'm hanging out to read Bloodhound (the sequel to Terrier). My favourite of her books though is definitely Protector of the Small!

And Thea, can I just say I LOVE Mara, Daughter of the Nile (Eloise Jarvis McGraw). I have an old hardback ex-library copy and I treasure it!

I have been eyeing off 'City of Ember' for a while now and finally(!) someone reviews it for me. Thanks heaps, Tara.

At 34 and a bit, I'm a total sucker for YA. There is so much great fiction out there in this genre. I even swap books with high school students of my Mum's. LOL.

I'm 32 and I love well-written YA books. I'm a big fan (because of you two) of the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead and also a big fan of the House of Night series by PC & Kristin Cast.

I grew up on Sweet Valley High (Ack!) and all that stuff, so well-written YA thrills me to pieces. My BFF's daughter is the right age to read these books, so for Christmas I got her the VA books. She LOVED them!

Thank you Tara and Thea! I think the YA boom is really great news, and, as Christine mentions, it can provide a great way for adults and youngsters to connect. I hope to read more YA.
