Hey I loved Smooth talking Stranger I don’t know about the rest of you but, hm when I read I don’t want for it to be like the way I live I want to get lost in the Risky and drown in the lets throw it to the wind. I started with Sugar Daddy the best was in love with Liberty and Hardy OMG when Blue Eyed Devil came out I was sick that I had to wait on Smooth Talking Stranger I am in Love with the Brothers I would like to find my own Jack Travis truth is we know there is not one out there that is the pleasure we find in the readings. And still now after a day of reading a long awaited now a have to wait another year for yet another brother and I will wait unpatiently… I hope you do get pass the review and remember its not you its not your life its were you got to get lost to experience someone else’s by the only means you can reading and enjoying cause regardless of it you’ll never find this in real life especially the sexuality and if its really out there please let me know cause I have never exsperienced anything that Liberty, Haven, or Ella has and I have had my good times and all nighters that are fun to reminice on but not like that. Its fun to find here in Lisa’s contempary novel where its safe…

Thank ya’all.

It was a very hard one to write for obvious reasons – my love for all things Lisa Kleypas being the most important one but I always , always aim for being completely honest in my reviews – good or bad – so I couldn’t have written it any other way.

Bridget – I don’t think it’s about being “weird” at all. I am usually able to gloss over a lot of things too but to be honest, I usually have a hard time accepting certain things in Contemporary novels. Maybe it’t because it is the time I live in, maybe it’s because I am constantly thinking: “no one would behave like THIS, come on” – I know it’s not fair but reviews are subjective endeavours after all.

In any case, to all of you who are going to read the book, I am really curious to see what you thought! Give me a shout when you review it or email your thoughts to me? Ta muchly.

Hmm…well, I guess I’m weird b/c I liked it, BUT I have to agree w/ you on the points you brought up. I was able to gloss over them (esp. that stupid scene where they go confront the “villain”). Ella…eh…whatever. Jack? LOVED him. Something about the men Lisa writes. Kind of like really rich chocolate. Something you know you shouldn’t eat, but the temptation is too great.

Ana – I think you’ve written a very honest review, so thank you and kudos! And yes, in this day and age, when unprotected sex can lead not just to an unexpected pregnancy but STDs!, and the couple in question are dealing with the outcome of unprotected sex, the suspension of disbelief required seems difficult. Maybe because I have yet to experience ‘the heat of the moment’ I can’t accept that as an excuse.

Regardless, I still really want to read Smooth Talking Stranger! Although it’s the other Travis brother I’m most interested in

Good for you for your honesty! I was surprised to see the five since I know how much you like Lisa Kleypas, but good for you still.

I gave up on Kleypas’ contemporaries after Sugar Daddy, which I thought was unextraordinary despite the fact that everyone else loved it. I hadn’t intended to read any of the others in this series, but I have to admit that it’s nice to finally find someone else with a non-glowing opinion on a Kleypas contemporary.

(I still eat up her historicals, though.)

Thank you for being honest. I hate when people automatically love a book just because of who wrote it or because they love the series. I still have Blue-Eyed Devil on my TBR which I hope to get soon.

Thanks for the honest review Ana. I have to say I gasped and covered my mouth in shock when I saw the 5 rating at the top. That being said, after reading your thoughts, if I had those same gripes with the book I’d not give it a fab score either.

I’m still very much looking forward to reading STS AND any laundry list that LK wants to publish.
