KMont--LOL yes, Planet Hallmark. Is it sad that we associate the word with the card manufacturer? It's only around in the first couple of chapters, so don't worry not too offputting! I definitely understand needing to go for shorter books--but I think you should give this one a chance when you can. It's really fantastic and completely took me (and Ana) by surprise!

Katie--Anytime dude

Sarai--Awesome! I cannot wait to see what you think of this one. It truly is a wonderful novel.

Tiah--besides this book being a bit heavy to hold in my tiny girly hands ( ) the length is practically unnoticeable because the story is just THAT well written. Definitely give it a read if you can!

Orannia--Hehehe, you know it is our secret ambition to get everyone to as enmeshed in these wonderful books as we are

I’m interested in your comment about the book as a trilogy Thea. Since it has been self-published, do you think it could possibly be picked up by an NY publisher and ‘re-worked’ as a trilogy or is that not done at this stage? Just curious
I would be delighted if this happened. Honestly, I'd urge any editors and agents out there to take a good long look at In Her Name and consider it for a big budget pushed series. It would make a fantastic trilogy, and I think would win a lot of fans--both male and female alike. ;)

Hey, all -

First off, I'd like to extend a big round of thanks to Ana and Thea for not only taking the time to do such an extensive review of In Her Name, but also for giving a self-published author like me a chance in the first place. So, big hugs to both of you!

Second, after kicking the idea around quite a bit, I've decided that I'm going to act on your advice (which, incidentally, I've gotten from at least one other reviewer) to break the novel up into a trilogy. So for those of you who are a bit leery of diving into a single huge volume, that should let you get a full taste of the story in the first book, then decide if you want to carry on to the next volume(s) (which, of course, you will! ). I won't set a firm date on that, but I'll try to have the first one available in the next month or so, both in print and ebook (Kindle and Mobipocket) formats.

Much as I'd like to in some ways, I don't have any plans at this point to expand the story that's covered in this book, but do plan to add on one or more prequels. In the first I intend to cover the war between the Kreelan Empire and Human Confederation, with a large part of it focusing on some of the characters that appear in "teh Bible" version: Colonel William Hickock, Admiral Zhukovski, Admiral L'Houillier, and - especially - Tesh-Dar.

And please feel free to stop by my site at www.kreelanwarrior.com if you'd like to get updates or make comments. And I'm obviously sending as many people as I can to The Book Smugglers - it's a great site even without this awesome review! :D

Cheers,
Michael R. Hicks

Great review! I always am a little worried when I see a large book, I don't think it will be good enough to devote the time to get thru it. But this one sounds like it would be.

Smugglers! Have mercy and stop reporting on all these insanely great-sounding books! (says KMont, who got absolutely STUCK on Retreat From Love by Samantha Kane for some reason last night and no clue why - sigh)

BTW, doing what yall have been doing since before and after last September? Yeah, that's not what I'd call procrastinating. I see why yall said that, but - NO - you weren't procrastinating.

One thing that jumped at me - Planet Hallmark? That's the biggest supplier of greeting cards here in the U.S. (the Hallmark part anyway), so I was a bit urg at that lol. Yes, it's early and I'm being picky, I know. Knowing that...

*there was just too much for only one book*

This is the main reason why this book is sounding just as daunting to me ATM as it is a great read. Yall have sold me on it, but these days I am needing engrossing yet quick reads - and as much as this one is packing, I agree that it sounds like there's too much here for one book. I will keep an eye on it - and should the author ever publish it somehow in separate volumes, I'd probably snatch it up a lot quicker. Since it's self-published tho - and kudos tot he author for going for it - I suppose I'll have to just dig deep and read it all in one volume one day.

It sounds great! Just going to hold off on it for a while.
