Nonsensical Weekend Poll – Which Video Game Chick is the Most Badass?
As a girl that likes to occasionally play video games (I have a gamecube, an OG Xbox, a 360, and a Wii), sometimes I just want to kick back with a badass female character. Preferably a character that doesn’t prance around uselessly, or continue to get killed or kidnapped or whatever. I’m looking at YOU, Ashley Graham (RE4).
Ashley Graham must die.
So, in that light, for this week’s ponderings: Which video game chick is the most badass?

Jill Valentine – Resident Evil

Zoey – Left 4 Dead

Joanna Dark – Perfect Dark

Ada Wong – Resident Evil

Lara Croft – Tomb Raider

Kitana – Mortal Combat

Rayne – BloodRayne

Sonya – Mortal Kombat

Alyx Vance – Half Life 2

Chun Li – Streetfighter II

Samus – Metroid

About Us
We are two completely obsessed, sad, sick addicts when it comes to books. Faced with threats and cynicisms from our significant others and because of the massive amounts of time and money we spend at Amazon.com, we resorted to getting books delivered to our offices and then smuggling them into our homes (in huge handbags) to avoid detection. Here we found a perfect outlet for our obsession! Reviews, recommendations, and other ponderings are our specialty.Sponsors

10 One of the best books I have ever read9 Damn near perfection8 Excellent7 Very good6 Good, recommend with reservations5 Meh, take it or leave it4 Bad, but not without some merit3 Horrible, barely readable2 Complete waste of time1 One of the worst books I have ever read; I want my money (and a few hours of my life) back0 Did not finish

ahhhhhh Chun-Li for me!
We always had a huge fight with my sister to decide who would take her (being a real carpet it was never me ,she was such a bitch
)
Since I don’t play video games, I’m going by the drawings (shallow? aber natürlich!) so I’ll say that Lara Craft is the most badass–but I positively adore Ada Wong’s red dress.
Pidute–I heart Chun Li, and the Street Fighter games in general! When I was growing up, I used to play SF2 in our arcade all the time, and finally beat the game with Chun Li
Your sister would hog her??? Oooh, how annoying
Azteclady–lol! Lara Croft is undeniably a badass, ridiculous proportions aside. And I love Ada’s dress too! She’s kind of a bitch, but it’s just cuz she’s so badass.
As for me, I gotta go with Samus!!!! I love Metroid. I love how you think she’s a dude until the end of the games and you see she’s a chick.
Samus rocks.
She prances about like nothing else, but I have a serve love for Ulala of Space Channel Five. Cause yeah, she has a couple of squealy kidnap moments, but the rest of the time she is an asskicking career girl, full of confidence, style and attitude at the absolute top her game. And because she’s slightly less of the standard ‘angry girl in a tank top’ stereotype. Instead, pink haired, gogo booted and packing laser guns, microphone and awesome moves, saving the universe from alien menaces and getting the best scoop while she’s at it.
Seriously, you have to love that.
I love Lara Croft – she’s also a fave of my mum’s, too.
But no Final Fantasy characters? For shame! Selphie had bad-ass morningstars but great hair!
My favorite is Kitana – Mortal Combat. Her fan moves are sweet, plus you gotta love the kiss of death! I always picked her when I played my brother. It would piss him off to lose to a girl both in real life and in the game!
I’d have to say it’s a toss-up between Lara Croft & Blood Rayne. I have a PS3, so as of this moment in time, the girls are missing. *sigh*
Lara Craft. She INVENTED badass.
Anonymous–Oh man, I had totally forgotten about Space Channel 5! I wish I still had my Sega. You make a good argument for Ulala! She’s the reporter chick, right? Ahh, memories.
AnimeJune–LOL I was wondering if anyone was gonna say something about the lack of FF characters. Well…to be completely honest, I never really got into Final Fantasy!
So I’m not sure which characters to nominate. You can throw fruit at me now. *ducks*
Tiah–Oh yeah, Kitana totally rules. Her fans are freaking sweet. Whenever I played Street Fighter II, I was Chun Li; and whenever I played Mortal Kombat, I was Kitana. And it’s so gratifying to kick another dude’s ass with these two characters and laugh. “YOU JUST GOT BEATEN BY A GIRL…TWICE!” LOL.
Bridget Locke–Rayne is awesome too (although those movies were gawdawful!), and no one can argue with Lara
A PS3 you say? One of my friends has one and we were playing Little Big Planet the other night. It’s definitely cool
Daniele–Can’t argue with you there
Lara gives badass archaeologists a good name.
Re: Ulala (I somehow forgot to add my name when I recommended her), yeah, she’s the lead reporter girl. Space Channel 5 is such a great little game. The sequel is good too, if not even better
I’d also put in a vote for Jayde from ‘Beyond Good and Evil’, even if this is showing up a severe fondness for reporter characters. She just kicks ass.
All tough choices, id probably have to go with Zoey, Kitana, or Chun-Li.
