@Heather: you know, I’ve not only read The Terror in 2008, but also re-read it, I liked it that much

Oh, and I think I forgot to mention one book that also made a great impression on me in this year … The Wasp Factory by Ian Banks. It’s not really fantasy or sci-fi, but it’s a little bit horror (or better: psycho) and just the type of crazy I like. Thought about it a lot, even though I never reviewed it.

It was great to learn about your blog launch!

So glad to see THE TERROR on your list. Man, I *love* that book. What an intense story. Crozier is my hero. I'm still thinking about it months after I finished, especially now that it's winter.

Would love to see a theatrical version but there's no way they could stuff all the amazing elements into 2-3 hours.

carolyn jean, thank you for your kind words. it’s nice to know there are other people like me out there; all I see is everybody bolstering how many books they read per day/week/month :).

KB, I haven’t read I Am Legend yet; haven’t even seen the movie actually, but from the sam collection “SF Masterworks” I highly recommend Flowers for Algernon…a hard book to beat, on any level.

I read I Am Legend this past year and I can see why it is such a classic and has influenced both authors and screen writers.
