Award Nomination – Kreative Blogger
Kimberly Swan of Darque Reviews has nominated us Book Smugglers for the Kreative Blogger award! We now pass the award on to some of our favorite blogs. A big thanks to Kimberly for the mention!
Here are the rules:
1. Mention the blog that gave it to you.
2. Comment on their blog to let them know you have posted the award.
3. Share 6 values that are important to you.
4. Share 6 things you do not support.
5. Share the love with six other wonderful blogging friends.
*NOTE: We decided to go in a slightly different direction, since I’m sure we will all agree that friendship, honesty, etc are good values, and murder, dishonesty, abuse, etc are bad things*
Six Things Important to Us:
1. Oxygen (without which, we wouldn’t be typing right now)
2. Rainbows and Ponies (Because rainbows and ponies make you feel better after contemplating economic recessions and other assorted depressing topics)
3. Batman (because…he’s Batman)
4. Receiving those wonderful coupon emails from Borders and Barnes & Noble (especially the notification that you’ve earned $5 in Borders Bucks–yeah, it means you’ve spent $100 at Borders, but it’s the gift that keeps on giving)
5. HDTV (it’s beautiful)
6. Clint Eastwood. Because, like Batman, he’s Clint Eastwood. And we so badly want to see Gran Torino.
Maybe this explains it best:
Six Things We Do Not Support:
1. Jack and Kate, aka “Jate” (from the show LOST–Jate makes us want to hurl. Don’t even get us started on the bubbleheads)
2. Proposition 8 (DOWN with bigotry!)
3. The fact that True Blood is nominated for two Golden Globes when a truly AWESOME, non-cheesy, well-written and exceptionally acted show like Battlestar Galactica is snubbed year after year. Seriously, Anna Paquin is nominated for a best actress globe!?!?!? You want good female acting? I’ll take Katee Sackhoff, Mary McDonnell, Tricia Helfer, Lucy Lawless or Grace Park over weaksauce Anna Paquin any day. And come on, Six is way hotter than Sookie!
4. Housekeeping (dust, dishes, vacuuming, the works–working full time and then having to come home and keep things clean? Gaah. We no likey.)
5. The fact that chocolate is fattening (Thea says: I don’t really care for chocolate anyways, this one’s for Ana)
6. The Boston Celtics. (Thea says: This one’s for me. I hate the Celtics with all the inky blackness of my heart)
Six Blogs We Want to Share:
Ana:
Best New Blog: Racy Romance Reviews
Best Creative Blog: The Thrillionth Page
Best In-depth Review Blog: Lurv a la Mode
Thea:
Best Blog to Find New Books to Read: Angieville
Best Niche Blog: The Galaxy Express
Best Fantasy Review Blog: Fantasy Cafe
Go forth and check these blogs out!

About Us
We are two completely obsessed, sad, sick addicts when it comes to books. Faced with threats and cynicisms from our significant others and because of the massive amounts of time and money we spend at Amazon.com, we resorted to getting books delivered to our offices and then smuggling them into our homes (in huge handbags) to avoid detection. Here we found a perfect outlet for our obsession! Reviews, recommendations, and other ponderings are our specialty.Sponsors

Congratulations! And ooohhhh – more blogs to visit
My wrists have improved, hence my visit, but I may be AWOL a bit again this week
WHAT? BSG didn’t get a Golden Globe nomination? I love that show! It’s so….I love the shades of grey!
Thanks for the nomination! I love your picture that sums up 6 important things, especially the evil pony – that’s a nice touch.
And I completely agree that the snubbing of Battlestar Galactica is a tragedy of epic proportions. Have to agree about housekeeping, proposition 8 and chocolate too.
Aw, shucks, thanks so very much for the shout out! You’re very kind. And where can I get a signed copy of that poster? That rocked!
You marvel at my paint skills, don’t you! :p
Orannia–yes, definitely give all these blogs a visit, if your poor wrists are up to it! I hope you feel better. And yeah, BSG is repeatedly snubbed. It’s an outrage, really.
Kristen–no problem! And the evil pony rules. I’m a big fan :p
Heather–Hee, glad you liked it. It’s hard to write words in paint using the touchpad mouse. You want an autographed copy? I’ll get it to you ;p
Oh gosh, more blogs to visit.
FYI: my boyfriend just looked over my shoulder and was like, “Is that a romance blog with my little ponies on it?”
Me: yes
Him: It was made for you.
(I’m doing an independent study on romance novels, and my front door to my dorm room is decorated with my little ponies. One of which is cameo. My boyfriend colored it.)
Big congrats to you both, and a thanx for adding more blogs to my ever-growing list.
Sci fi shows have a tendency to be snubbed by these kinds of awards, hence the dissing of BG. Since True Blood is not out in Australia I have to ask… WTF is a NZL-er doing in the role of Sookie?? I know that Anna Paquin played Rogue in the X-Men, but srsly, please!
PS – I’m loving the skull tatt on the little evil pony’s butt. LOL.
Thanks guys! It appears we share all the important values. (Paquin was completely miscast, IMO.)
Awww, thank you, ladies! I will get on this as soon as possible.
Ducking low over the True Blood brewhahah, lol. I will say though that I don’t know what her being from a different country has to do with any roles she might do, because come on now – wouldn’t that limit her to ONLY doing roles that take place in NZ or characters that are from NZ?? The girl would never work. But I do love the show and hope it just gets better in season 2, so I’m a bit biased.
And I hear about BG all the time, but have never had the chance to watch it. I really need to remedy that one day.
i loved the “six things you don’t support” section!! and right now, Fantasy Cafe, Lurv a la Mode and Angieville are all added to my google reader, ahhhh the things you make us do
Thanks SO much you guys!! This is a great honor, coming from the likes of yous creative gals!!!
Okay, I love your lists. I can’t wait to see Clint either, and HDTV – it’s that good? Okay, and I agree: whatEVER on True Blood!!
Anyway, THANKS! I’m going to pass on this award this week!!
JC–how funny! Who would’ve known, blogging, romance and ponies all go together so well :p *twilight zone theme plays in the background* Your independent study sounds awesome, by the way!
Kris–thank you, and I hope you like the new blogs, they are some of our faves! And seriously, there’s some SF discrimination going on with award shows. It really makes me angry. Hulk angry.
And for the record, I agree with you 100% on Anna Paquin. That’s two characters she has killed for me on screen (I *hated* her Rogue, with a passion).
Jessica–No problem! And, ah yes, the important values of HDTV, Batman, and Clint Eastwood
Hee.
Kmont–Ok, ok, we’ll let up on the True Blood knocking
As for the NZ thing…*whispers* I know that Kris is from Australia, so that might factor in ;p
And dude–get on BSG. Really. Do it now, before the show comes back next month (for its final episodes *cries*)! I think you will like it
Katayoun–Hehe, happy to be of service! Does anyone else’s google reader look more like a freaking book with hundreds of daily updates? Yep, that’s mine.
CJ–HDTV and Clint Eastwood are definitely good things :p And you are definitely one of the most creative blogs out there. Little CJ, the holiday cards/comic panels…brilliant.
Whoops, caught out big time on the whole NZL and Oz thing.
Kmont, I just don’t get how she can get cast twice in the role of a paranormal gal with a southern accent – at least I assume it’s a southern accent cos, hey, with the Oz thing how would I really know? It just seems weird that a NZL-er keeps getting these roles.
As for actors only playing in their own back yards, I would be all for it if it meant keeping Hugh Jackman all to myself in my little courtyard. *g*
Kris, I guess you have your reasons for feeling that way, no biggie.
As for her accent, well…some think the accents done on the show were atrocious, while I’ve maintain that, being from the Southern U.S., southern accents are about as varied as they come. You just hear all kinds down here.
Thea – bash the show all you want – really! It’s your blog and I know the show wasn’t up your ally. Again, no biggie! Personally I wouldn’t have thought the show would get any awards, and I loved it! Just wasn’t what I thought of as award-worthy, but I’ve never kept up with the Globes or Academy either.
Finally posted my portion of the Kreative Blogger Award.
