I loved this one from page 1 right through to last page (cause I don’t remember how many there were *g*) I can see those things that lowered the grade for you, but they didn’t bother me. I love Jo Goodman – have for years – and this one didn’t change that fact at all for me. I gave it 4.75

GULP! I don’t know what to say. I did try and read ‘If His Kiss Is Wicked’ earlier this month, but I just…couldn’t I kept wanting to re-arrange the words so that the sentences flowed more smoothly. *SIGH* My bad!

Ana – the “Rushed Surprise Ending” device is hardly new – it’s one of the reasons I despised Jane Austen’s Mansfield Park – which was a slow character study until the last fifty pages when several bad things decide to hit the fan ALL at once. *lol*

I can also understand the frustration of reading an author who has beautiful writing but a TERRRIBLE story – I’m reading Julie Anne Long’s “The Runaway Duke” right now, and I love, love, love her style and HATE HATE HATE her protagonists. Gaaah!

Ok I had to read the spoilers part and the paragraph you started with But then there is ALSO: just had me laughing by the end. I cannot even imagine a book that had that much going on!

It's nice though that the first 300 pages worked for you so it wasn't a total loss/waste of time.

It looks interesting, but I read the spoiler. It’s like cramming 5 different storylines…no no, wait, 6 different storylines in maybe 100 pages? That’s a bit…ambitious.
Besides, I’m not big on stories with too much child abuse. Issues, you know.

I guess I’ll keep an eye out for the author and hope for a book more my taste. Also, what’s with authors having a multitude of evil women?
