Fun post! I love Spike, too. In fact, always feel the need to explore what exactly soul-less means when you have the tragic Spike/Buffy relationship!!

And back when I was a teen and read the Vampire Chronicles, Queen of the Damned was my favorite, too. I remember thinking the movie was lame except for Stuart Townsend as Lestat…

Ooh. Agreeing with you on everything. I loved that movie, and I LOVED Buffy. Especially that one episode where Buffy and Spike just about brought the house down… literally…

I read Queen of the Damned first of all the Vampire books and I loved it so much. I would like to read the first four or so, in order, again. I gave up after about the 5th book or so, but someday, when I’m on a long vacation in misty London… I’ll reread them all…

I loved Coopola's Dracula. Gary Oldman is the perfect Dracula.

Spike...ugh, that vampire is just too hot for words. It's just a shame he didn't get his own series.

I have to agree with you on Lestat. Lestat is one of my favorite vampires. But Cruise as Lestat was just badness all around.

Spike is way sexier than Angel, especially before he becomes a proper scoobie. Yum. Gary oldman is awesome as Drac and have you seen Scott Townsend as Lestat in Queen of the Damned? (YUM).

OMG, you watched the Don Dracula too?!?!! I loved Chocola as a child. *sigh*

Of course, the chinese vampires I grew up with were terrifying so they've always been a source of fear. Not evil, really, but not allowed to be part of this world (so to speak). Those hopping corpses. *shudder*

I didn't start falling for vampires until I was older, in my teens too. 12-13 I believe, with Christopher Pike, LJ Smith, R.L. Stine. Mostly Pike and Smith though slowly lunched me into the older adult romances (what? romance novels at 13 isn't young :P).

Then came the TV shows...Spike is just the best. Even souless, he had this inner love about him.

Because of the vision of Josh Whedon and of Buffy and Angel, he has turned the whole vampire myth, from tv to movies, espcially books on their ears.
Was anyone lusting after Spike when he and Buffy got down and dirty?

I heart you for putting Spike in the “most importantly” category!! Once he and Buffy hooked up, I didn’t give Angel another thought…well, unless I was watching Angel, the show. But I love Marsters as Spike. I suppose one reason being that he could actually BE with Buffy, while Angel had that pesky and annoying “I’ll turn evil if I sleep with you” prob.
