A blog worth reading on forward until the end! I really admire the wording in this blog, quite precise to the details but I just might change one or two things, never-the-less, bravo on well choiced words mate.. p.s.>> Thanks for sharing, I actually picked up some knowledge on this one

wow. thank you. this is one of the most wonderful reviews i've read. Leslie's story is the one closest to my heart, so i'm particularly touched when people see what i was going for in the ending of INK. thank you most of all for that.

(btw, you picked one of my fav lines in the book to quote.)

Naida–thanks for the praise Definitely give Melissa Marr a try, both of these books are worth the hype.

Ciara–I am a big fan of these inner-strength types of heroines as well (definitely, ala Anna in A&O and Cry Wolf). I really appreciate that Ms. Marr goes to those darker places with YA fiction–drugs happen. Sex happens. Unfortunately, violence and rape happens. But she handles these subjects with gravity and respect–and the result is this darkly beautiful book.

And your tattoo sounds awesome–very symbolic and empowering!

Rachael–thank you! I adored the characters in this book and the surprising depth to each of them. Really wonderful stuff.

While I enjoyed the story in WICKED LOVELY more, the characters and writing blew me away in INK EXCHANGE. Just, wow! And you two nailed the reasons why. Fantastic review!

Woah – "drugged and gang raped"!?!? In a YA??? A fabulous review (as always). You've completely sold me on running out and buying it. I heart stories of abused/broken heroines who put themselves back together over the story arc – truly a transformative process of bravery and hope. (why I like Alpha and Omega & Cry Wolf so much!) I relate to Leslie's reasons for getting a tattoo. I've been thinking of adding a firebird to the one I have already – a tangible symbol of strength against adversity – hope rising from the ashes again and again.
