Oh oh oh! I am currently reading this, so I was skimming your review, worried to spoil…I’m coming back. I think I agree about your point on the wooden heroes, though, and LUVING Adrian…and Kedger and Jess!

Great review, Ana! I loved the way Annique was truly the center of The Spymaster’s Lady, so I’m happy to hear Jess is the center of this one as well. Sounds like Ms. Bourne has written another well layered historical tale of espionage. I’m looking forward to this one. And more Adrian?! Icing on the cake.

Wonderful review Ana--I quite liked Annique in the first book (although yes the hero was somewhat vanilla)...can I just say that this:

I was especially frustrated at how he keep repeating that he would do this, do that and that she WOULD fall in bed with him soon muwahahaha. Stop threatening and do it already Sebastian, let’s see if you can get away with it, big boy.

I love how we agree that Jess was da bomb in this book!
Sebastian was okay, but Jess lead him around by his… heh heh.
