I picked up this book based on its cover and the summary on the back of the book! The more I read it, the more I liked it. =)

I've tackled the second book not long after finishing the first one. Then, I couldn't wait for the 3rd one to come out! Now that it's out, I'm saving up my money to get it. Hmm, not sure if it's available in my country now.

Marg–oh Australia, how awesome! Hmm I hope your library gets with the program, but if not, Borders (or Amazon!) is always a great alternative

And one of my buddies in high school was named Kartik! It definitely threw me a bit when reading this book I can see where you are coming from!

Awesome review, Thea. I read this book and the one that follows, Rebel Angels at least two years ago, I think. I was impressed by how well Ms. Bray blended historical with paranormal with coming of age issues into such a compelling and believable story. I borrowed the first two books from the library at the time and haven't yet picked up the latest book, The Sweet Far Thing. I'm actually hoping to get my 13 yo. to read this series over the summer. That ought to inspire me to read the last book as well.

p.s. My husband's best friend (also the best man in our wedding) is named Kartik. I have such a hard time picturing the Kartik in the book. I just want to giggle every time.

I am in Australia. I did think it was coming out in May, but haven’t seen it anywhere. I am getting to the point where I just might have to make a special effort to go to Borders to see if it is there!

Oh how frustrating Marg! Do you know when it will be released where you are (UK?)? I know what you mean about not wanting to buy the book if you haven’t purchased the others in the series–I am kind of anal when it comes to having all the books in a series (I will desperately try to find the same publisher editions of books b/c it looks that much nicer on the shelf like that…oh the headaches I had with my Dark Tower books! I’m *still* peeved that ALL the volumes have not been published under one consistent format…)

Hopefully your library will get on the wagon and order the third book soon

I really enjoyed this book when I read it a while ago. I am now waiting for the third book to come out here. I don’t really want to buy it from overseas because I didn’t buy the first two, but my library doesn’t seem to be in any great hurry to buy the third book!
